Please ensure IF you take any Time Out Of Training (TOOT), it is mandatory that you record this via the self-recording tool on your ePortfolio (red losenges).
TOOT is calculated in calendar days NOT working days. You must include weekends in your calculation and declare them. Only 14 days TOOT are permitted per ST year, anything over this must be made up and CCT date adjusted accordingly. TOOT must be added to the ST year in which it was taken, not the end of ST3.
Please ensure you are including the relevant GP Scheme mailbox it to any correspondence to the Trust, HR, Practice etc with regards to TOOT.
Types of absence considered exceptional time out of training which are required to be made up, and that should be documented, are normally statutory types of leave which include:
- Sickness absence (including for COVID)
- Maternity leave
- Paternity leave
- Compassionate leave
- Parental leave
- Carer leave
- Sabbaticals
- Jury service
- Industrial action strike
- MoD responsibilities
- Professional leave (work outside the requirements of the curriculum)
- Shielding or self-isolation due to pandemic (where remote training is not possible)
- Annual leave accrued during times of exceptional leave periods as above
In addition, all dates will need to be declared on your Form R Part B prior to ARCP. Please note TOOT days can adjust your CCT date (as detailed above), therefore it is imperative that your portfolio is kept up to date.
Please make sure the ePortfolio and Form R match as this will be checked at ARCP
