Masham - Market Square

Masham

Masham is a small market town at the gateway to Wensleydale.  It is a popular tourist destination famous for its annual sheep fair, traction engine rally and real ale breweries.

The practice covers 180 square miles on the eastern edge of the Yorkshire Dales. The surgery in Masham overlooks the historic market square and we have a second surgery in the nearby village of Kirkby Malzeard.

We are a dispensing practice, and provide a wide range of services in house. Our GPs’ interests include dermatology, diabetes, palliative care, women’s health, minor surgery, drug and alcohol problems, and travel medicine.

We have friendly and helpful team of staff, and strong links with the wider primary care team and the voluntary sector.  We have been a training practice for more than twenty years, so our staff and patients are familiar with and supportive of GP trainees.

We aim to provide trainees a solid grounding in rural general practice, with plenty of experience looking after patients with long term conditions in the community.  Our distance from local hospitals means there are opportunities in increase confidence treating minor injuries and in prehospital management of medical emergencies.
