ePortfolio

You will need to register with the RCGP as an Associate in Training to obtain access to the ePortfolio.  More information regarding ePortfolio can be found in the ePortfolio section of this web site.

National Training Number

The deanery will send you your National Training Number (NTN).  Your NTN will be issued on receipt of your completed Form R Part A.

The Form R has two parts. You need to complete a Form R Part A prior to commencing training.  The Form R Part A should then be emailed to the Yorkshire Deanery uusing the address below and saved in order for you to upload it to your ePortfolio once you have one.

Hospital Posts

At the beginning of your training, you will be invited to attend an induction.  For those of you in hospital posts at the Friarage Hospital and James Cook University Hospital, this will be on your first day and information will be sent to you from the Postgraduate Medical & Dental Education Department, James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.  The contact for this information is the Postgraduate Services Manager, Mrs Louise Campbell.

You will be sent recruitment documents which you are required to complete and return immediately by the hospitals Medical Personnel Officer (MPO).  

The MPO at the Friarge Hospital is Mrs Chris Lickiss.  Chris deals with Paediatrics, General Medicine and Obs & Gynae posts.

For new starters in A&E or ENT at Darlington Memorial Hospital, the contact is Mr Craig Million.   

The medical staffing manager for Mental Health is Julie Magee.

Please contact your MPO direct to discuss your placement and rota if required.

Your clinical supervisor will be allocated to you when you start your post.  All leave enquiries are to be directed through the MPO's in the first instance who will then advise you further.

Your educational supervisor will be allocated and they will stay with you fo rthe duration of your training.  This will usually be a trainer at one of the GP practices you will be working in.

General Practice posts

For those of you who start in General Practice, you will be invited to attend a General Practice induction in the Autumn.  Details will be sent to you by the VTS secretary, Mrs Wendy Buch.  The information for each practice is displayed on the General Practice tab on the website.  You will find your trainer's contact information and details about the practice you have been assigned to.  Please contact them direct to discuss your placement prior to starting.  Your practice will send recruitment documents you are required to complete and return immediately. 

If you do not return the recruitment information within appropriate timescales, you may not be able to start work, impacting on the service and your training.
